Atlantis has been around for a very long time. Longer than the history books might suggest. The island is composed of a mix of ancient architecture and new buildings. Fresh designs molded in with old classics. You can find a little of everything in Atlantis, and that goes for everything from the people, to the fishing ships, to the buildings and even the plants
The CityIs divided into three districts around the Town Centre. These districts are referred to by locals as The House of Ouranos, The House of Kronos, and The House of Gaia. While the city itself is always changing, with new people and buildings being picked up by the island, the districts retain some semblance of organization to the city.
Town CentreThis collection of historic buildings at the heart of the island include the Justice Centre, the Market, an outdoor mall of vendor shops, Elektroniks Emporium and a large open stage where music, speeches and local plays are held.
Elektroniks EmporiumIf you need a laptop, phone, tablet, communicator or other electronic device, this is the place to get it
Justice CentreThis is the Law of Atlantis. If you break it, you end up here. There is a court room, jail cells and an ominous staircase going down into the chaotic mass of caverns beneath the city. It is the largest building in the city and easy to spot. Often used as a meeting place or a directional marker
House of OuranosBuilt up on a hill, this district resembles the cities of Greece. It is built in scaled levels up the hill, with the summit being the central point of Marshall Downs' Fleet. The buildings going down the hill are a mix of residences and small shops, while the area intermixed and surrounding it is made up of condensed farms and parks.
House of Kronos The Eastern part of the city, this district goes from the base of the Ouranos hill and wraps around to just past the Justice Center. It connects the houses of Gaia and Ouranos. While there are residences in this area, the majority of the buildings here are academic. Both schools, the library, and several academic 'scholar' buildings make up the main portion, with residences and a few shops mixed in.
House of Gaia PictureThis district is largely residential and the larger area of the three districts. The House of Gaia is what remains of the Old City, the ruins of which are strewn outward from the City to the Southern Shore. It is closest to the docks, and many of the open shops in the city are located here.
Atlas Tiered School House of KronosElementary, Middle and High School all rolled into one. This learning center is located in what was once a massive hall. The main hall acts as a lunchroom with three floors on either side of smaller rooms that serve as classrooms. There is a big ball court out back for playing various sports or enjoying the fresh air. The front leads to gardens with statues and fountains scattered about. The varying sports teams run under the mascot of
The Flying Squids
Atlas University House of KronosHigher learning. Located atop the highest point of Atlantis' inner city, a large hill to the farthest North. You can find just about everything from Advanced Fishery to Quantum Physics offered here, and the massive, sprawling libraries offer more books than any one man could ever read on every subject ever written about.
The Academy House of GaiaA massive mansion reporposed into an all-age groups school and training center by Charles Xavier. Students at The Academy get training in problem solving, critical thinking and teamwork building in addition to standard curriculum. There is also focus on individual skill sets and talents once a week during training sessions. Underneath the school is a massive bunker turned into a high tech training facility with help from Tony Stark.
The Asteria Planetarium House of Kronos PictureThe Asteria Planetarium is located in the Kronos district, and is open to the public twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The facility is able to seat about a hundred people at any given time, though it's rarely full. While shows are usually only scheduled during the afternoons and evenings, the planetarium has its own library that's dedicated entirely to the study of the skies above, with charts and books referring to countless clusters of constellations that Atlantis has had the fortune to see over the past several centuries. For those who prefer a more hands-on approach, part of the building houses a dedicated observatory, frequented by the city's scholars.
Belles et Beaux A haute couture shop run by Elisabeth Clements in Gaia. It's the place to go to for custom made and otherwise formal clothing that can't be found elsewhere on the island.
The Catskill Cafe House of Gaia
Simple 90s style coffeehouse near Town Centre. Currently Owned and Opperated by Ripley Willems
New Brew Coffee Shop House of KronosOwned by Ianto Jones. This Modern Coffee Shop is located near the eastern coastal side of Atlantis. It's a small shop but it offers
the best (This claim under dispute) coffee and tea on the island. Situated closely between the University and the School
Marauding Magic House of GaiaRun by Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, this shop mysteriously appeared at the edge of the city. All kinds of magical mischief can be purchased here, including rare and beautiful island owls.
Plaid House of GaiaRun by Alisha Bailey, this bar is both modern and sleek despite the old surrounding buildings. People of all sorts are welcome to come in for a beer, cocktail, or glass of hard liquor; the bar is well-stocked and even offers a special, exclusive, locally-made brew.
Housing Options: Besides the houses scattered about the city, there are two apartment buildings to the west and east of the Town Centre If you would rather your character live there, just leave a note. Roommate services are available for anyone who wants them and the housing is free.
Timaeus Apartments House of GaiaThese apartments are in a refurbished old-Atlantean building with ancient architecture, but all the new amenities. The views look out on the untamed rainforest and the Pillars of Hercules or out over the majestic city.
Hephaestus Apartments House of OuranosThese apartments are in a refurbished old-Atlantean building with ancient architecture, but all the new amenities. The views look out on the untamed rainforest and the Pillars of Hercules or out over the majestic city.
Critias Apartments House of KronosThese apartments are in a newer 1900s style apartment complex, complete with revolving door. Views include the Eastern Coast and a view over the City of Atlantis. They are located near the schools
The CavernsCaverns run underneath the entire island. They are vast and mazelike and you WILL get lost if you venture into their depths. Rumors run wild on what is down there, but all the old residents agree, nothing good comes of stirring up what lives down there.
Outside the City
The Pillars of HerculesThese massive marble pillars stand before the road exiting the city. Beyond them lies the wilderness of Atlantis. A massive sprawling rainforest and Mount Olympus, the dormant volcano. This wilderness takes up half of the island and is surprisingly, vastly unexplored. There are rumors that dinosaurs live in the mountains and strange beasts that live in the forest. Plants and animals from various worlds and times. It's not just people who end up on Atlantis.
Poseidon's Warning PictureThe abandoned building lies where the River leaves the Rainforest and heads out to the southern shore. It is deserted and none of the locals will approach it. If asked about it, they seem eager to dismiss it and change the subject.
The Southern Shore/Old City Ruins PictureAll new transplants will awake on the Southern Shore. It is up to you when and where along the coast they may find themselves, but they are sure to find themselves near ruins wherever they happen.
Near the large, sprawling bay is a collection of ruined and crumbling old buildings and statues of the old city, trailing off deep into the ocean for half a mile. This is what is left of the Old City. Reclaimed by the sea. Sharks, dolphins, giant octopi and other sea creatures now inhabit the ruins, but they are free for you to explore. At your own risk, of course.
The Rainforest PictureMost of the Western part of the island is taken up by Rainforest. Full of deadly plants and animals, it is vastly unexplored. Venturing into the Rainforest is a dangerous endeavor, and it is very easy to lose your way or become turned around. The only sure path through the forest is along the river. The river which
all creatures within the rainforest go to to drink.
The Mountains PictureThe southernmost of this five-mountain chain is home to Dex
dexignated and his raptors. The mountains vary drastically in height, with the two northernmost being the tallest, high enough to be snowcapped despite the weather the rest of the island might be experiencing at any given time. The other three mountains are home to a number of ruins, many of which lead to expansive caverns and man-made structures that will lead any intrepid explorer directly into the heart of the mountain. Even now, it's said that no one has ever managed to explore these ruins completely, though many have tried and failed, losing their way or finding themselves trapped deep within the tunnels, both natural and man-made.
Mt. Olympus PictureThe affectionately named, dormant volcano towers above its five surrounding brothers. It is highly respected by the Atlanteans, and visible from the city. Looking over the top will give a view into the cool, dead crater, but the sleeping volcano is never assumed to be dead. Merely sleeping. Try not to anger the Gods and bring its wrath down upon the city.
The Coliseum While there are no opposing schools to challenge, the Coliseum often holds 'friendly' competitions. Each District has their own team, and the three compete in various sports of different levels. The Coliseum is on the far Eastern side of the Southern Shore.

Tethys Harbor/Docks
Tethys Harbor is a natural harbor that the Atlanteans have chosen to take full advantage of and expand upon. The water here is deep enough for even the largest ships to be moored safely, though a number of the vessals present are smaller, privately owned boats. There are several smaller docks present, as well as a long, white-stone pier with a number of viewing scopes erected at the very end. A large galleon referred to only as the Kharybdis is docked at the western end of the harbor, and is under constant guard, with two men posted at its personal dock at all times.
